As such, we make every effort to reduce the amount of information we collect and to treat the information we do have in accordance with this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy tells you more about the information we collect, how we use it, how we may share your information and how you can limit our collection of your information.
You will see terms in our Privacy Policy that are capitalized. These terms have meanings as described in the Definitions section below.

1.Definitions:

1.4. Website means www.refcoat.com and all its registered sub-domains.

1.5. Visitor means an individual browsing our Website but one who does not sign up for any of the services on the Website.

2. Information we collect:

Generally, you control the amount and type of information you provide to us when using our Website.

2.1. Information collected from a Visitor: You can browse this website without providing contact details. Optional Google Analytics measurement starts only after you select Allow analytics. It helps us understand public-page visits, approved marketing sources and campaigns, accepted enquiries and assessment completion.

This measurement uses cookies, browser session storage and random browser/session identifiers. Google's tag can also collect browser, device and approximate location information. Our diagnostic sends permitted events through Refcoat's server after the same optional analytics choice. Identifiers can connect visits with enquiry events; this is not a claim that all analytics data is anonymous.

Our enquiry tracking excludes names, email addresses, telephone numbers, enquiry messages, assessment identifiers, sand inputs and report values from Google Analytics. It sends public-page addresses without raw query strings or fragments. Approved source and campaign labels may also be stored with a consented enquiry in Refcoat's own records. Enquiry details needed to respond to you remain separate from the data sent to Google Analytics.

Select Essential only to decline analytics, or select it later through Cookie choices to stop further optional measurement. Both the enquiry forms and diagnostic remain available. Withdrawal clears this website's optional tracking state; it does not erase previously collected analytics or enquiries.

Essential cookies support secure diagnostic sessions and remember your cookie choice. The Refcoat diagnostic clears its protected session when you select Finish; server access also expires after two hours of inactivity or 24 hours after the session starts. 2.2. Information collected when you sign up for any of our products or services:

We do collect Personally Identifiable Information when you sign up for any of our products or services such as our plan alerts and other updates and newsletters. But the source of this data is you and we only collect this information with your full knowledge and consent and you have the right as explained in Section 4 of this Privacy Policy to retract your consent at any time.

The Personally Identifiable Information we collect may include,

3. How we use your information:

3.1. Understanding visits and enquiries. With optional analytics permission, we review which public pages and campaigns lead to accepted enquiries. Advertising personalisation and advertising storage are disabled in this measurement setup.

3.2. Analytics reports and enquiry attribution. Google Analytics provides reports from the permitted events and identifiers described in Section 2.1. We can also review the approved source and campaign labels stored with a consented enquiry in our own records. We do not send that enquiry's contact details, message, diagnostic inputs or report values to Google Analytics.

Personal information is used in other circumstances, as outlined below.

3.3. To provide you with our products and services. With regard to your Personally Identifiable Information, we only collect what is strictly necessary in order to provide you with our products and services that you have requested.

3.4. We do not sell your personal information. We do not sell, rent or otherwise provide your Personally Identifiable Information to third parties for marketing purposes and all emails and phone numbers in our database comply with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation.

However, we may disclose your information under certain defined circumstances. To find out more about when we may disclose your information, please see Section 6 of this Privacy Policy.

3.5. We retain your personal information only as long as is necessary: We retain your Personally Identifiable Information only as long as maybe necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected or for as long as maybe required by law.

Subsequently, your information will be destroyed or "anonymized," meaning that only basic statistical data that cannot possibly be traced back to you will be retained.

If we ever intend to use your Personally Identifiable Information for any purpose that is not specified in our Privacy Policy, we will make all lawful and reasonable efforts to obtain your prior consent.

4. Your Consent and Control over Personally Identifiable Information:

Your consent is paramount and we will never collect your Personally Identifiable Information without your express or implied consent.

Submitting an enquiry asks us to respond to the information you provide. Optional analytics has a separate choice, described above. Browsing the website or submitting an enquiry does not by itself give optional analytics permission.

However, as far as is possible and reasonable, we will ask for your consent or inform you at each point of your interaction with the Website that results in collection of Personally Identifiable Information. This may be at two different points:

(i) Our cookie panel lets you allow optional analytics or continue with essential cookies only. You can change that choice through Cookie choices. Declining optional analytics does not disable the enquiry forms or diagnostic.

(ii) When you sign up for any service on the site such as to our plan alerts, take part in any survey or enter a contest on the site and voluntarily provide us with your Personally Identifiable Information, we will ask for your express consent / give you the option to opt out of any marketing emails from us or our survey / contest partners.

Even after you give consent, you always have the right to retract your consent at anytime by clicking ‘unsubscribe’ to any email notification from us or our partners or by writing in to us at info@refcoat.com to have us stop sending you further communications.

5. Data Security:

To protect your Personally Identifiable Information from data theft and prying eyes, we make sure that generally, we are the only ones that retain your personal information. Your information is kept in databases subject to strict monitoring procedures and protected by regularly updated security technology. Any affiliates that we work with, who may have access to your information are governed by confidentiality agreements limiting the use and dissemination of such information.

If, against our best efforts and outside our control, there is a data breach which affects or has the potential to affect your Personally Identifiable Information, in addition to doing everything in our power to restrict the extent of and to remedy the breach, we will inform you of the breach as soon as possible and where possible, within 72 hours.

6. When we may disclose Personally Identifiable Information:

As a general rule, as stated in Section 3.4 above, we do not disclose your Personally Identifiable Information for marketing purposes, without your express consent. However, there are circumstances under which we may disclose your Personally Identifiable Information to third parties. These circumstances include:

6.1. We may provide your Personally Identifiable Information to affiliates that provide services to us with regards to our Website (i.e. payment processors, data processors, Website hosting companies, etc.); such affiliates will only receive information necessary to provide the respective services and will be bound by confidentiality agreements limiting the use of such information.

6.2. We may disclose your Personally Identifiable Information in circumstances where we may be legally required to do so. For more information on what these circumstances could be, please refer to Section 7 of this Privacy Policy.

6.3. If you provide us any Personally Identifiable Information in order to enter a survey or a contest we run on the site, we may share such information with our survey or contest partners and they may contact you. However, as detailed in section 4 (ii) you have the option to refuse permission to such contest partners from contacting you.

7. Legally Required Releases of Information:

As stated in Section 5.2 above, there may be circumstances when we may be legally required to disclose Personally Identifiable Information. Examples of such circumstances include:

(i) Emergencies in which your or other’s life, health, or safety may be at risk;

Our Website may contain links to other websites that are not under our direct control. These websites may have their own policies regarding privacy. We have no control of or responsibility for linked websites and provide these links solely for the convenience and information of our Visitors. These linked websites are not subject to this Privacy Policy. You should check the privacy policies, if any, of those individual websites to see how the operators of those third-party websites will utilize your personal information. In addition, these websites may contain a link to websites of our affiliates. The websites of our affiliates are not subject to this Privacy Policy, and you should check their individual privacy policies to see how the operators of such websites will utilize your personal information.

9. You have access to all your Personally Identifiable Information.

Simply submit a written request, at info@refcoat.com and after confirming your identity in an appropriate manner, we will provide you with a list of the personal information in your file.

This information will be provided in accordance with applicable laws, in a legible and understandable format, within a reasonable period of time, and at minimal or no cost.

If your personal information is not fully accurate, you may request to update it or make changes to it at any time.

10. Privacy Policy Updates

We may modify this Privacy Policy from time to time at our sole discretion. You should review this Privacy Policy frequently.

If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you on our Website, by a blog post, by email, or by any other method that we choose. We will also change the "Last Updated" date at the beginning of this Privacy Policy.

Any changes we make to our Privacy Policy are effective as of this Last Updated date and replace any prior Privacy Policies.
